Last week I shared part 1 of my philosophy of how to transcend the bonds of “emotional eating” as we currently define it.
I talked about how first and foremost, we need to change our definition of the issue and reconnect with some fundamental truths about ourselves. If you missed it you can read the article here.
I got a ton of feedback and I know a lot of you were eagerly awaiting part 2, so today I made a little video for you, where I’m talking about the second step in the process, and that’s learning how to Emotionally Eat the RIGHT way.
The solution is actually very simple, and that’s to bring positive emotions to eating. In other words, to be a happy emotional eater! Emotional eating is really what we’re designed for.
The reason why is that positive emotions actually shift your body chemistry into the optimal state of digestion and metabolism. And cultivating happy feelings makes you happier, which means you have less need to fill in the blanks with food.
By practicing these simple strategies in your life, you’ll start to notice that you actually CAN have pleasure with food, that you DO know when to stop, you’’ll begin to lighten up. And when your mind lightens up, your body can lighten up as well.
